I have had the same cell number for more than 6 years now from Verizon Wireless. When I first signed up for Verizon before I went off to college, I was add onto my parents account. When I graduated, I was going to change to my own plan, but with everything going on, I never got a chance to. I have been meaning to go into the Verizon store to start my own contract since I am moving closer to the North Shore area. I always forget my father’s death certificate which they will require to be pulled off the account.
I have always been granted full control of the account both online/by phone. However, recently Verizon changed their security polices making it so the only person set to be account manager is the account owner. This made it hard for me to do anything on the account until I was on my new contract. When I got locked out of the online account, I called to have them reset it. Luckily they unlocked my online account for me so that I could still do things online, but to do any other tasks, I would need to have my own account.
Looks like I have to go this week to take care of it.
Tonight there was a mini marathon of SNL episodes making the night a lot better. The first three were the previous Thursday night political shows and the final being the live episode. Coldplay performed!
It started out with Joe Biden in Pennsylvania with Rep John Murtha where they are saying crazy things to ruin Obama’s chances at the polling stations. He talked about selling Hawaii to Saudi Arabia and selling Alaska to Russia. I don’t think we should sell all of Alaska, just Sarah Palin. Biden continued to say that if Obama is elected there will be a crisis. Also, they might burn down Washington DC and that Jesus is going to come back if Obama wins in November.
Jon Hamm from Mad Men was the host and he was trying to plug his show by saying there will be a celebrity dance contest, they makeover a home and the cast of CSI will be there. He mentioned that John Mcain and Barack Obama will be on the show smoking real weed. Sarah Palin is there too.

Coldplay’s second song “Yellow” ended a lot differently than I remember when the song first came out. At the end, the lead singer Chris Martin screamed “Barack Obama” making it known where their allegiance resides.

Tiny Paste is a tool that is used for twitter to allow you to type more than the 140 characters that twitter allows. You type what you want to say, hit submit and it will turn it into a tiny url that you can add into your tweet. Once the person clicks on the url, they will be able to read it from there.
There is also a firefox plugin for Tiny Paste which you can select the text you want in the browser, right click and convert it into a url. Very handy when you are trying to quote something and you need more than 140 characters.
A friend of mine told me about http://palinaspresident.us. You go on the site and you see the oval office with Sarah Palin sitting behind it. You can click on all the different objects in the office and they move or make comments.
For example:
There is a poster of the movie “Maverick” and someone from the Dallas Mavericks
Inside the door on the left, there are burning books
On the wall there are blank frames and if you click on them, she says: “Learning’s hard”, “Didn’t graduate”, “BS here I come”
If you click on the curtain directly behind Palin, she says “Where did Russia go?”
There is a 6 pack of beer on the seat that she calls “Joe 6 pack” and the light bulb she calls “Joe Light bulb”
I would highly recommend checking this site out for fun
The other day, my mother received a letter saying that she owed $1,000 to Sears for purchases that my father made. What we didn’t realize is that those charges were made 3 months after he passed away. Today, we got a letter with a detailed copy of our bill and the dates and purchase locations. I decided to call the number on the bill and have some fun with them since I had no intentions of paying.
A man picked up the call and asked me for my name. I refused to give it because they didn’t need to know my name. I gave the man, his account number and he asked how he could help me. I wanted to discuss some of the charges on the account and he told me that he needed to speaker with the account holder.
Me - {angrily but having fun} “You want to speak to the account holder? The one who passed away 3 months ago! No, you can’t speak with him”. Man - “I am sorry to hear that and I will write a note that he is deceased.” Me - “{mockingly and pissed} You should already have that in your records since “you” (the company) originally called, talked with me and said that you follow up on dead accounts.” Man - “Well you are still responsible for the balance on the account.”
I then asked him if this call was being recorded and he told me that it was. I explained that the charges were made 3 months after my father passed away. There were charges for an electric company in Arkansas and we live in Massachusetts. Also Progressive Insurance for $1,000 and other miscellaneous and fraudulent charges. The best part was that there was a payment made on the account for $1,132 on 10/8/08. If someone was going to steal his identity/card, why would that person made a payment for what they stole. Due to that point alone, I feel that it is a scam.
Finally I explained that they would not see a penny of that balance and that if they tried to pursue this bill, they would be speaking with our lawyer. I hung up the phone and had a good laugh with my mother standing right next to me.
Note: There is a part of me that wanted them to come after us and hope for some money to pay off my student loans.
I was driving down the street yesterday to go pick up some meatballs for my spaghetti dinner and there was a bus in front of me. After a while, he put on his right blinker and slowed down by the side of the road to let passengers out. The car in front of me passed the bus and I was right behind him. The bus was still moving a little bit, but still had it’s blinker on. As I was approaching the front of the bus, he started turning left towards me. At that point, I was too far that I could stop, so I continued to go. Right after I passed the bus he took the entire lane and it didn’t even seem to bother him.
I wonder if they actually think they control the roads and they don’t have to pay attention to their surroundings. I hate how they pull into traffic and cut everyone off just because they are bigger. I believe they call that being a bully.

I know I am behind the times with Pandora, but some people haven’t been brought into the light yet. Pandora is a free online music adviser that was created by the Music Genome Project. You enter in an artist and it will return you a set list of songs that are similar. There are over 400 musical attributes that Pandora uses to determine how types of music are similar. Examples of these are rhythm syncopation, key tonality, vocal harmonies and displayed instrumental proficiency.
I have been using it for about 1 hour and it has picked all songs that I have liked. I keep hearing about it from my friends, so I figured I would get on the bandwagon. I would highly recommend this FREE service if you are allowed to listen to stream music at work.
MC Yogi created an awesome video as a tribute to Barack Obama and why he should be the next President of the United States. Obama is the candidate that is going to bring the most change for this country, which is what we need right now.
Gen. Colin Powell just came out to show support for Obama and so should the rest of the country, at least the Democrats.
Most people in the US don’t actually research statements made by politicians, they just believe them. I am a very vocal supporter of Barack Obama, but not everything he says is the truth. That is a politician speaking and they are trying to get you to vote for them. However, it is our “responsibility” to research what they say and analyze their comments for any inconsistencies. We can’t just listen to what the politicians say because most of it is just filler and I am not denying that. However, there is more to a story than what the candidates say.
I know someone, who I won’t mention their name, let’s call them “Jane”. Jane is very religious and believes in Christianity. I am a Christian too, so this is nothing against my own beliefs. However, Jane is uncomfortable with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side. He spoke about how the US caused the terrorist attacks of 9/11 because of our bombings in other countries. McCain was attacking Obama for him being tied to a radical minister. Well, if anyone did any research on what McCain claimed, they would find out that Obama stated that he does not believe in everything that the Reverend said and he repudiated Wright’s comments. Everyone has that person that they know who makes a comment that they don’t agree with, it is a part of life. You are going to be affiliated with someone who makes a comment that makes you look bad. Now, if Jane actually checked the validity of McCain’s claim, Jane may think differently. However, since Jane is very religious, she holds Obama responsible and thinks that he is going to ruin the country with Rev. Wright at his side. That is just the first part of my issue with Jane’s comments.
When did religion become the basis of a political election in the United States. When did the US ever feel like religion determines who becomes President. What I am trying to say is that we should not be judging him based off of what his pastor says, but what he believes in. He has already said that he does not believe everything the reverend says and that should have been the end of it. In school, I had a teacher who explained that the US is officially a Secular Nation.
A secular state is a state or country that is officially neutral in matters of religion, neither supporting nor opposing any particular religious beliefs or practices. A secular state also treats all its citizens equally regardless of religion, and does not give preferential treatment for a citizen from a particular religion over other religions.
Let’s move on to William Ayers and his ties to Obama. The McCain camp, mostly Palin has been claiming that Obama is “palling around with terrorists“. Well, if Palin is suggesting that Obama has had contact with a radical activist who set off bombs 40 years ago when Obama was 8 years old, than she’s right. However, Obama claims that he didn’t know any of his past history. Well, not everyone knows everything about everyone when they meet them. There are secrets that people keep and that doesn’t get brought up until that person is in the spotlight. I have been in many organizations in my life and have served on many boards. Mainly in college, but that isn’t the point I am trying to make. If someone that I worked with on an organization did something in their past that I didn’t know about, that doesn’t make me a terrorist. According to the McCain campaign, it does. I love how Kevin Bacon’s six degrees of separation isn’t a game anymore because it messes with the future of a country and a planet. What I mean by that is if McCain becomes President because too many people think that Obama has ties to terrorists than not only is our country going to suffer, but so is the future of the planet.
McCain wants to stay in Iraq spending 10 billion dollars a month while the real terrorist threat is on the borders of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Now, those $10 billion/month is going to a country that has an $80 billion dollar surplus while our country is in a recession and going into a depression. Also, McCain is all about the need for oil and that’s why they say “Drill, Baby, Drill” because they want to drill off the coast of the US. The reason we need alternative sources of energy is not only because we need to free ourselves of foreign oil, it is that we need to be oil independent. Our planet is going to change drastically because of what the oil is doing to it. We need a source of energy that is not only “green” but renewable. Oil is a resource that we can not reproduce once it is gone. However, if we start funding other sources that are feasible like Wind Turbines, we can produce the same amount of energy or more and not use any oil.
Finally, Sarah Palin (R-VP candidate for McCain) made a comment that is really a punch in the face to certain states in the country. Palin stated: “We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation.” Why would she think that there are parts of this country that aren’t American. Well since she is the governor of a state that has only been a part the US for 49 years, should that make her state less American? No, because it is a part of the United States, just like every other state. How dare she accuse certain parts of the country to be non-American. That is not what a Vice President or President would say. If there was one bit of respect I had for her before this, it is gone.
Just like I have said before, I am not a political analyst, I just state my views.

It was looking like I was going to be writing an end of the year review for the Red Sox going into the 7th, but I wasn’t going to give up until it was over. After losing 7-0, the Red Sox were able to put a run on the board in the 7th. Big Papi came up to the plate with 2 men on and 0 outs and hit a deep home run giving the Red Sox home down 7-4. Before that HR, Ortiz was 1-17 in the ALCS. In the 8th, the Red Sox added on 3 more runs with J.D. Drew and a 2 run HR and a Coco CrispRBI to tie the game. In the 9th, the Red Sox got a key double play to end the inning for the Rays.
Youk was up and hit a ball in the infield, but the 1st baseman couldn’t get the ball and it soared over his head into the stands. With Youk on second and Jason Bay at first after a BB, J.D. Drew hit a fly ball to right field over the OF’s head to bring Youk home and extend the Red Sox season at least 2 more days.
Game 6 is on Saturday night at 8:07pm EST. GO RED SOX!!!!
