The latest commercial that they are running where the guy keeps asking what he can get for $1 and it doesn't buy him much, but then he asks in McDonald's and they describe to him what is referred to as the "Double Cheeseburger".

McDonald’s is the largest fast food chain in the world and they are very good at selling and promoting their product. However, they need to spend a little more time (2 minutes) focusing on the continuity of their latest TV commercials.

The latest commercial that they are running where the guy keeps asking what he can get for $1 and it doesn’t buy him much, but then he asks in McDonald’s and they describe to him what is referred to as the “Double Cheeseburger”. He orders a double cheeseburger only for $1, but they miss a few details. When he is eating his Double Cheeseburger, there is a drink and a dessert on the table. I have a couple of questions that I am sure most have said.

When did he order a drink and dessert?

How did he pay for it?

What about the “meals tax”? (In Massachusetts it would come to $1.05 and in New Hampshire it would be $1.08

In another commercial, the same happens, but the McDonald’s server describes the McChicken sandwich (or something with chicken). However, when they show him eating, he is clearing eating a double cheeseburger.

You would think in a big restaurant chain would spot errors like those. Other errors might be able to be overlooked, but that is the point of the commercial and they should be aware of that. It doesn’t change my opinion about McDonald’s, but I just thought it was interesting.

In High School, I worked at Boston based “Brigham’s Restaurant and Ice Cream Parlor” on Mill St in Arlington. My Grandmother worked at Brigham’s when it was Buttricks. The plant where the Ice Cream is made is connected to the restaurant I worked at by underground tunnels. It was the freshest Ice Cream anywhere since it practically just came off the “belt”.

They had an interesting flash page for the site and it was very interactive. However, last week, Hood legally bought Brigham’s. Friends who still work there told me that all of the “recipes” and “brands” will stay the same. I doubt that, they fired the ice cream makers. Also, All of the other workers were fired including the webmaster…see below:

If you are redoing the website because of the buyout, at least keep the so-called branding for the homepage. Step 1 to Hood ruining that which the Boston area loves.

I know this isn’t about America and it’s independence from England, but there was a lot of things going on today.

Since I work in Peabody, MA, we go to the one on Route 114.

However, the queso goodness has it’s price. On the left you will see the nutrition facts for one (1) steak queso burrito with all the fixings. Surprisingly, I have not gained any weight in the last year. I bought tickets to the Pearl Jam concert this Saturday and on the tickets (printed tickets) was a “buy one get one free” coupon for Qdoba. It will cut my spending in half the next few times I go.

Enjoy, you know I do!

I was reading an article called “Life Behind Bars” and they explained what the prisoners got for food every day. Apparently Armenian food is what they feed them…alright, so it might not be just Armenian food, but it is a lot of what Armenians eat.

So far, Jassem Mohammed, has been in custody for “two years, two months and 10 days,” he says. “They feed us ‘fassoulia’[beans] and rice every single day,” he laments. “Is it possible for a man to survive the winter on such a diet?”

I understand that it would be tough eating the same food every day, but Fassoulia and Rice are amazing. Fassoulia is a great Armenian dish consisting of Green Beans, tomato sauce and Onion with some other seasonings which I love to have. Every time there is a celebration at my church, we have some main dish (chicken, lamb), fassoulia and rice pilaf. Good Eats!!!

The Cheesecake Factory is an amazing restaurant because they are really good at what they do. Today is the grand opening of the Cheesecake factory in the North Shore Plaza in Peabody, MA. However, I am going to talk more about their Pre-Opening process.

Since http://www.studentcity.com is a local business, they sent us an invitation for lunch. A lot of the new people were that with us for a total of about 25 people. They gave us 4 appetizers, each entree was different and we had a choice between them. After they gave us cheesecake for dessert which was amazing as usual.

The best part about it was that it was all free to us. Their reasoning is that they need to do a test run anyway and they might as well get some bodies in there for more practice. All they ask us was for our opinion of the service.

Lately, I have really enjoyed Sea Dog’s BluePaw which is a Blueberry Wheat Ale. I tried it when my sister bought it one night when she came home from work and it has become the drink that we buy. Each time we run out, the other person goes and gets another 6-pack.

There are four tests for rating beer: Aroma, Appearance, Taste and Finish (Aftertaste).

Aroma: Your nose can detect so many aromas that you want to make sure to smell it before tasting. As you first pour the beer, you can smell a hint of blueberry which makes sense and it adds to the flavor. Since Bluepaw is an Ale, besides the fact that it is a blueberry flavor, it has a fruity aroma to it because of the warmer fermenting temperatures.

Appearance: To most people, they define their beers by the color. Many say that if you are drinking a dark beer, than you know how to drink beer, but that depends on what type of beer you are wanting to drink and for what reason. BluePaw is a light amber color with semi-clear clarity (it could be the glass thats throwing it off though).

Taste: It has a medium body with a little bit of a tartness to it as it goes down, but very enjoyable. Not really that much more to say except to try it for yourself to understand what I am saying (not a professional beer judge).

Finish: The aftertaste sticks with you for a while, but not too long. It stays just enough so that once it goes away, you want the taste back, which is the point I guess. After you swallow it, there is a nice kick of blueberry that rises back out to your taste buds for an extra treat.

Overall: I am really happy with the brew and the overall taste of it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone to enjoys a nice fruit flavored ale. Zach has created a Black and Blueberry (Black and Tan variation) using BluePaw as one of the ingredients.

While I was in Armenia, I had the opportunity to try Kotayk and I was very pleased with it. The medium-bodied pours a dense, dark straw color which offers a mild hop bitterness followed by a slightly crisp hoppy character. If you can get your hands on Kotayk, I would highly recommend it for people who enjoy trying new types of beer. Check out the products page of their website to find out descriptions of the following types of beverages that the Kotayk brewery makes besides the Lager. Here is the list Kotayk bitter, Kotayk Tshani, Kotayk Alcohol free, Erebuni, Kotayk Moscowyan, Kotayk Water, Kotayk Water, Limo Apple, Limo Rapberry, Limo Cream Soda, Limo Estragon, Limo Chocolate, Limo Lemon, Limo Orange, Limo Pear.

HISTORY:

The KOTAYK Brewery was built by a Czechoslovak company in 1974 during the Soviet age with a view to satisfying the demand of beer of the Caucasian population. Due to its high production capacity of 500 000 hl, the KOTAYK Brewery supplanted the small breweries from neighborhood by offering to the Armenian, Georgian, Azeri and Russian consumers a high-standard beer produced with the last developments of the Czechoslovak technology in the domain. Since the Armenian independence, this brewery has been affected by the same problems that jeopardized the whole country. In 1996, the owners of the brewery were eventually aware that they would not be able to face alone the lack of funds and the technological deficiency of their company. That was the reason why they looked for a western partner to assist them to face the new challenge of the year 2000. Thanks to its broad international experience, the French group Castel, which had already been very successful in Africa, Russia and Asia, got the bargain because of its know-how. The investment of Castel group (18 million dollars) was one of the first and the most important investments realized in 1997 by a foreign company in Armenia.
