Red Sox Sweep Mini Series in Oakland

After a big 2-1 win over the Athletics in the first game of the second, two game, series in early April, the Red Sox and A’s fought it out in the afternoon today. Going into the 7th inning, it was 0-0 and that is when the Sox took control. Ortiz blasted a 2 run HR in the 7th off Embree to start the scoring.

The Sox couldn’t break it open in the 8th with the bases loaded and no outs, but they managed to bring two runs home. However, they didn’t need it with the extra runs because the A’s couldn’t score. The Sox are playing really good and they are missing some key pitchers like Schilling, Timlin and Beckett. Hopefully Beckett and Timlin will be ready for Sunday.

The Red Sox’s record goes to 3-1.
