11 Year Old Takes Over School Computer Network, Officially
11 year old Jon Penn was named Network Administrator after the original admin left unexpectedly. The computer network was struggling and they asked him to run the network. He picked out the school’s Anti Virus and made some other changes to their existing setup to better suit the needs of the school.
I was the big into computers at that age, but I didn’t run a school network by myself. It wasn’t until Jr. High that I was helping run the computer labs. In High School I was pulled out of my classes to fix computers and it was accepted by all teachers. I was chosen to take college credits in computers while in HS. I was able to get my MOUS certification which allowed me to teach computer programs to teachers and parents of the high schoolers. (Adobe products, Office and Internet) I was sent to Armenia on behalf of the US. Government to teach computers over there.
Jon Penn definitely has me beat in network control!
