JuicyCampus.com Review: Horrible All Around

JuicyCampus.com is one of the dumbest sites I have ever seen. The point of the site is to share college gossip anonymously. The problem is the whole site and not any individual feature. Their logo is very pixelized and there are too many parts of the header that are images. They should learn how to write code as well. They have inline css, inline javascript, the way the javascript files are in the header means that their site will not pass YSlow. The naming convention are completely wrong and they have flash controlling their announcements ticker which is not very well done. The colors are ugly and the style looks terrible.

The best part is if you disable JavaScript, the site doesn’t even work. It has the display, but since they don’t know how to program, the site does nothing. I’m glad they did testing before putting this out for beta. I am not saying that I am a perfect developer, because I’m not, but I do know that there are some browsers that do not allow for javascript. For example, I have a blackberry, but don’t allow for Javascript, so their site doesn’t work on my phone. If they knew anything, they would set it up for the site to work with or without JavaScript.

Not only that, but look at some of their code.

I really want to setup an interview to blast them out for being so stupid. I am obviously not wanting to get a job with them, but I do want to explain to them that they tried and failed and that they should end this one and start a new project.
