Firefox 3 ReleaseI downloaded Firefox 3.01 Beta yesterday (a few weeks late) and at first I was thinking that I was going to have to uninstall it right away. If firebug was not compatible, (which the current version isn’t) I would not be able to do any work in web development. Since that is my job, it is very important that I have it. Firebug is one of my favorite development tools that I use daily to debug JavaScript, HTML and CSS. In the new version of Firefox, there are a lot of changes that were made and I am not sure how I feel about them. Some of the others, I like.

It is hard to explain in words but the url equation that auto suggests urls is different. It searches throughout the url for that string first instead of the word sensitive first then sort by all. Also, the CSS renderer is different because of the way some of my sites load. On firefox 2, the CSS was just the way it should look and in firefox 3, it was off by about 5 pixels. If this is the proper way of handling the CSS, that’s fine, but otherwise it needs to be fixed.

They now only allow for secure updates for the extensions, themes and plugins. There is a bookmark tagging and starred section now along with a new way of storing bookmarks. Not a lot more right now but just a quick review.
