Lately, I have really enjoyed Sea Dog’s BluePaw which is a Blueberry Wheat Ale. I tried it when my sister bought it one night when she came home from work and it has become the drink that we buy. Each time we run out, the other person goes and gets another 6-pack.
There are four tests for rating beer: Aroma, Appearance, Taste and Finish (Aftertaste).
Aroma: Your nose can detect so many aromas that you want to make sure to smell it before tasting. As you first pour the beer, you can smell a hint of blueberry which makes sense and it adds to the flavor. Since Bluepaw is an Ale, besides the fact that it is a blueberry flavor, it has a fruity aroma to it because of the warmer fermenting temperatures.
Appearance: To most people, they define their beers by the color. Many say that if you are drinking a dark beer, than you know how to drink beer, but that depends on what type of beer you are wanting to drink and for what reason. BluePaw is a light amber color with semi-clear clarity (it could be the glass thats throwing it off though).
Taste: It has a medium body with a little bit of a tartness to it as it goes down, but very enjoyable. Not really that much more to say except to try it for yourself to understand what I am saying (not a professional beer judge).
Finish: The aftertaste sticks with you for a while, but not too long. It stays just enough so that once it goes away, you want the taste back, which is the point I guess. After you swallow it, there is a nice kick of blueberry that rises back out to your taste buds for an extra treat.
Overall: I am really happy with the brew and the overall taste of it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone to enjoys a nice fruit flavored ale. Zach has created a Black and Blueberry (Black and Tan variation) using BluePaw as one of the ingredients.

One year after the Red Sox won the World Series, the White Sox swept the Red Sox in the ALDS to go on and win their World Series. However, 2 years later, the Red Sox gave it back to them bigger and better.
The last three games were really skewed in favor of the Red Sox. Between Schilling, Beckett, Wakefield and Tavaraz, the pitching staff kept the White Sox in the low values for runs and hits. Beckett and Wakefield are the only two pitchers in the majors with 16 wins and Beckett is only 0.6 points behind JJ Putz for possible the AL CY Young award. If he keeps up his amazing numbers, he will pass Putz to take the CY Young.
Even though the pitching staff was outstanding, the offense is what stole the show this weekend. The Red Sox scored 46 runs in the 4 games compared to the 7 runs by the White Sox. With Home Runs from Ortiz, Youkilis, Varitek, Drew, Pedroia and Kielty (his first home run as a member of the Red Sox), the Red Sox put up great numbers to not just win but give enough insurance that the bullpen got to rest. Since the Sox will be going into NY on Tuesday, with an off day tomorrow, the bullpen will need all the rest they can get. Here are the game numbers for runs scored.

I can’t think of a better way to enter the series with the Yankees than with a 7 1/2 (+- .5 tomorrow) lead in the AL East. By the time we leave NY, I hope that lead will be increased to 11 games by Thursday. Go Red Sox, Yankees Suck!!!

This is one of the raunchiest but funniest movies I have ever seen and I recommend it to anyone who can handle a comedy with a lot sex jokes, swearing and drinking. Seth Rogen and Bill Hader were histerical in this movie just like they are in everything else they do. I would not be surprised if this movie ranks in your top 5 movies (if you enjoy that type of comedy).
The film opened at #1 at the U.S. box office, earning $33 million in its opening weekend in 2,948 theaters for an average of $11,211 per theater. As of August 23, the film has grossed $47,105,741 domestically. It was written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg when they were in high school. It was produced by Judd Apatow, previously known for directing The 40 Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up.
The film follows high school seniors Evan and Seth, two socially-awkward best friends who attempt to lose their virginity before the end of the school year. When opportunity presents itself through a scheduled keg party, the two friends attempt to illegally obtain enough alcohol to satisfy the party-goers. Meanwhile, geeky teenager Fogell spends the night with two reckless police officers, convincing them he is a twenty-five year old Hawaiian organ donor named McLovin.
NSFW: TRAILER UNRATED
The movie stars Jonah Hill (Knocked Up), Michael Cera, Bill Hader (SNL), Seth Rogen (knocked up and 40 year old virgin), Emma Stone (Drive – TV Show), Martha MacIsaac (I Do, They Don’t – TV movie) and introducing Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Fogell/McLovin. Chris was amazing in his first time on screen and really fit the part of a geek but progressed into a bad ass kid that people started to like.
This movie has now surpassed many of my favorite comedic movies that I have ever seen. It ranks right up there with Dumb & Dumber, Super Troopers and Harold & Kumar. However, this movie was a different type of funny than the other movies. The others were so funny because of the randomness but the writing in Superbad was classic.

I have been using jQuery for months now and am loving the way that I can manipulate the DOM easier and cleaner. Each time I use jQuery I learn something new and it becomes more and more a part of my development strategy. If you are interested in learning about jQuery, I highly recommend the book Learning jQuery. It is a great starting book and reference to add to your bookshelf. You can buy it below:
Ajaxian informed me of the new release of jQuery 1.1.4. The new version is a major improvement on the previous version. In addition to the speed increase and bug fixes, they are announcing the release of some new functionality.
.slice(): You may recognize this method name from the .slice() method that exists on JavaScript arrays – you’re in luck because it behaves identically. This is a great method for chopping apart jQuery objects and getting to the elements inside of them.
:has(): This new selector is a replacement for the current way of checking for elements inside of another element (div[p]). You can now use this selector just as you would that particular XPath selector.
Deep, recursive .extend(): This has been a frequently-requested addition to the jQuery .extend() method. This change allows you to deeply merge nested objects (as opposed to having them overwrite each other).
jQuery released 1.1.4 in preparation to launch the new version 1.2 in September. Here is a preview of what’s to come:
