24 Day 6: 1am - 2am

Jack confirmed that there was no more C4 in the building and that it was clean. Doyle asked Audrey if she knew of the location where she was being kept. She didn’t respond for a while and then stated, “Help me Jack, please don’t let them do this to me”. Nadia wanted to talk with Morris about his transfer request and denied it. Mike called Nadia to tell her what Jack’s plan was and that he screwed up by attacking. Also Doyle thought Audrey had PTSD and Nadia blamed Jack for what happened. Mike took Audrey to CTU and Jack told Mike that he is the only one that can help Audrey because he went through the same torture but Doyle sent him back to CTU under arrest. Karen told Daniels about what their options were at this point, but as she was leaving he told her that he is glad that she is working there and her scarifies. Daniels asked Tom and Karen to be part of a tele-conference with the Russian President. Daniels’ Chief of Staff Lisa Miller went into a hotel room where the guy she was sleeping with was waiting for her. The Russian President told Daniels that he knows about the chip and that it is in the hands of the Chinese government. The Russian President told Daniels that if they do not intercept the Chinese and get the chip back, the Russians would attack their base camps in Central Asia and this situation has expanded to more than just a regional conflict. Cheng uploaded the chip to their computers and they realized that the chip was damaged and that they would need to find someone who could fix the chip.

Lisa needed to head back to be with the Vice President and while she was in the shower, the guy she was with took her phone and downloaded information to his and then made a phone call. Morris and Chloe tried to talk things out but Morris couldn’t get over what she said and he ended their relationship. Karen called Nadia to tell her about the investigation and how important it is to get the chip back. Dr Bradley, a specialist, went to evaluate Audrey and figure out what she knows. The doctor told Nadia and Doyle that they are going to shock her to snap her out of her mindset.

Lisa got a phone call from VP Daniels to tell her that there is a crisis and she needs to go back to the White House. While she was on her way, Tom told Daniels that Lisa was involved in the leak and that there was evidence against her. Daniels told Tom that he was also sleeping with her and that it made the situation worse. Doyle went to talk to Jack and tell him why he can’t see her. Doyle took the handcuffs off Jack and told him to do something about the situation and as he turned around, Jack took him out along with the guard. Jack went straight for the doctor and took Audrey out of the room. The doctor pulled the fire alarm and Milo told Nadia that it was her fault.

Morris was trying to locate Jack and he said it would take a little bit. Nadia confronted Doyle about her suspicions and then Morris found Jack. Jack took Audrey down to the lower level and tried to get her to speak by giving her information about herself and what happened to her then Jack gave her a hug and she grabbed his hand. They opened the door and Jack wouldn’t let them take Audrey, but she spoke and told them balloon field. Jack and Audrey were taken to another location.

Tom got off the phone with a General who informed them of the Russian military when Lisa walked in and there was an awkward silence. Tom left the room and Daniels told Lisa that he knows about her and the terrorist and that they were sleeping together. Daniels told her that it is treason and that she has betrayed her country and walked out. Nadia checked in on Audrey as her father, Secretary of Defense Heller, showed up to take her away. Doyle may have found the location to where they were keeping Audrey and he was headed there with a team. Heller went to go visit Jack to tell him that he was no longer allowed to see her. Heller told Jack that he was cursed and that everything that he goes near ends up dead.

Patriots Trade For Small, Leafy Plants (Moss, Randy)

moss
I know the Patriots have a great team and we can afford to give up a draft pick, but do you honestly think that this piece of moss will do anything for this team. What is moss: A green plant that grows in moist conditions on the ground, the side of trees or on branches. I don’t understand why….Oh, we traded a draft pick for Randy Moss, that makes much more sense. :)

Randy Moss

On April 29, 2007, NFL Network analyst Adam Schefter reported that the Raiders had agreed to a trade with the New England Patriots, sending Moss to Foxborough, Massachusetts in exchange for a fourth-round selection, the 110th overall, in the 2007 NFL Draft (the same selection the Patriots acquired from San Francisco during day one of the draft). Moss agreed to restructure his contract with the Patriots. Both potential suitors for Moss, the Patriots and the Green Bay Packers, reported that Moss ran 40 yard dash times in the 4.29 to 4.30 range during pre-trade workouts.

I am pretty sure that we are going to have a Super bowl winning team this year (even though we should have won last year). Tom Brady who is one of the best Quarterbacks in all of the NFL, will have the following receivers. Randy Moss, Reche Caldwell, Troy Brown and if we line up 4 wide, Doug Gabriel. That is an unstoppable force, however when you add in two amazing Running backs and a top quality defense, the only thing that can stop the Patriots this year would be Kryptonite and maybe little bugs in the moss, but not Randy Moss.

It will be a great season starting in August, but until then, enjoy Red Sox Season.

PAINTBALL_MARKER_1

paintballs
Al and Cliff invited Vasken and I to play paintball today and my first time going was amazing. We went to OSG Paintball in Center Barnstead, NH. When I first started playing, I didn’t know what I was doing, but as I shot more and more paint balls, I realized what to do making the games that much more exciting. I only hit 5 or 6 people but I had a blast doing it. I will be coming back up this summer to play with them and increase my skill level.

The Castle
The castle is a game that is played as attack and defend. As my first game ever, we were defending the castle and I wasn’t sure of what to expect. I lasted only 5 minutes when I got picked off on the finger. I watched from the sideline until Cliff was painted and we went back to the staging area.

7
We moved on to Western Town for a very quick game for me because my pack (extra paint and CO2 container) fell off, I got hooked and I got shot. Vasken and I would finish up the day in Western town where our team “PWND” our opponents.

2
After Western Town, we went to the village where we were on the higher ground shooting down. After about 10 minutes, I was kneeling and got shot in back of the leg.

6
Urban town was my favorite field because we spent the most time there. The first game I lasted about 15 minutes until I got shot by a guy behind a doll house (Where’s the cover fire). The second game was going great until I got nailed about 10 times by guys who took out a lot of our team. The final game in Urban town, Vasken and I took control of the situation with another player and took out about 10 of their players between the three of us. Right at the very end of the 20 minute game, I thought I was hit and called “Paint Check” and the referee came over and told me I was clean. As the referee was coming in, I saw a guy with his gun up signifying that he was out of the game (Dead Man’s Walk) and as the referee moved out of my way, the “out” player turned and fired 4 shots into my mask and chest. As I left the field, the game ended which aggravated me because I could have finished the game if that player didn’t pull an illegal move on me.

I had a blast playing and I can’t wait to go back later this year.

Boy Jailed Over Daylight Savings Time

Posted at: 5:48 pm by Timothy Haroutunian
Categories: Rants and Randomness, Tech and Web

This is not the kid who got arrested, this is Flava Flav
Flava FlavA 15 year old boy was arrested because George Bush decided to make Daylight Savings Time three weeks earlier this year. The boy called his school hotline an hour before a non-related bomb threat was called in. After the bomb threat was over, the school checked their caller ID to see if they could establish a connection and they pulled up his number. However, the school forgot to change their clocks and the boy was thrown in jail for 12 days until the situation was resolved. During that time, he tried to tell them it wasn’t him, but the principal would not listen because she figured he was lying since he was a criminal.

I wonder what would happen to the principal and the school for making such a horrible mistake. however, all charges have been dropped on the boy.

Family Guy Clip - Quick Tribute To Ninjas

Posted at: 6:18 am by Timothy Haroutunian
Categories: Rants and Randomness

I was watching Family Guy and I realized that there is a very short reference to ninjas at the end of the clip. I thought that this was awesome because Matt wrote a post on ninjas and how awesome they are. Remember the reference to this post is at the very end of the clip but I would still watch the whole clip because it is funny.

One year ago, I posted about the Armenian Genocide, I just wanted to remind people to think about today and what happened and to read articles about it.

Here is the Memorial of the Armenian Genocide in Yerevan, Armenia

When I traveled to Armenia, this is one of the places we visited and it was very emotional because many of my ancestors were killing in the Genocide by the Young Turks.

24 Day 6: 12am - 1am

Doyle flags down a car and pulls the “Federal Agent in Pursuit” routine and steals his car. Doyle called Bill and lets him know of situation. Bill tells Chloe that he needs her help with this pursuit. CTU loses the signal following Jack after he separates it and makes it blend in with the power lines. The Press Secretary explains Palmer’s condition. Daniels asks to meet with Tom so that he knew where Tom stood with him as President. Tom spoke his mind but was upset at the way everything happened. Jack called Zhi with the location to meet him since CTU is tracking him and they started to move Audrey.

Daniels approved Tom’s idea to increase departments working on it and then they left. Daniels and his chief of staff start to kiss and she tells him she is going home to get a change of clothes. Bill informs Doyle of the stakes if they don’t find Jack and they figure out where he is headed. Chloe and Morris got into an argument about nothing and Milo broke them up and then Chloe sent files to his system and help. In the heat of the fight, Chloe told Morris not to arm any nuclear weapons and before she could apologize, Morris left the area. Karen met with Peter and told her that he has information that implicates her and Bill. He showed a video with Reed that proved that Karen and Bill had let Fayed go. Karen had to explain to Peter why they let Fayed go. Peter told her that someone will pay and that it can’t be her and that she should fire Bill.

Jack pulls into the location where he is going to meet Zhi and assessed the area and the building and placed a bomb in the barn. Karen called Bill to let her know that they need to talk. Karen tells Tom about what Peter told her and Tom makes her fire Bill because Bill is done but she still has a job. Jack calls Bill to tell him the plan that he is going through with and that he is going to blow it up in the bomb and then Jack says bye to Bill. (sad friend tone)

Morris meets with Bill and requests a transfer and then he called Karen back. After arguing for a few minutes, Bill asked if she wants him to resign and she told him that he is fired. Karen told him that she loves him and thats all that matters and he hung up the phone. Nadia told Bill that Doyle found Jack’s car and was going to check it out. He also told her that he is stepping down and that she was in charge. Security escorted Bill out of the building and Nadia told all of CTU that she was now Director of CTU.

Doyle worked around the building and saw a limo driving up. Zhi got out of the limo and headed into the building. Jack made it clear that he is to see Audrey before the trade was going down. Jack said that he was going to give the chip to him as soon as Audrey was out of the range of the sniper. Jack through him the chip and then Doyle fired his gun and Zhi shot jack in the chest and left in Hummers then the CTU airplane was hit by a rocket and went to the ground. Jack got up and took out three guards at the door right as CTU came in. Doyle informed Nadia that they don’t have Zhi and she told Doyle to place Jack under custody. Audrey did not know who Jack was when they brought her in. The episode ended with Jack saying, “Oh! My God”.

13 Little Things That Make A Geek Happy

Posted at: 8:06 am by Timothy Haroutunian
Categories: Rants and Randomness, Tech and Web

*UPDATE: I changed this list up based on a comment from Matt

This list is great because it is very true due to 9 out of the 13 make me very happy. How many can you account for? Semi-Source - I have changed some of them that do not relate to me. Thanks Boyd.

  1. My gmail notifier lights up. It could be a friend asking if I want to meet up for a drink later or a nigerian prince who has a financial proposition I simply can’t refuse. Either way those few moments before I actually read the message always fill me with a bit of euphoria.
  2. API’s - I know that it is fun to screen scape websites and collect information that you can manipulate yourself, but it is a lot better when they give you the information legally and you can write more productive code. Ex: Flickr, Facebook, USPS, etc. (get the hint ESPN)
  3. Someone submits something I wrote to digg. Sometimes it makes the digg homepage, sometimes it doesn’t. Either way it’s flattering to have something I wrote submitted by someone else who thought it was digg-worthy.
  4. A new referrer pops up in bSuite. Whatever analytics you use on your website, it’s always nice to see someone spreading the link love.
  5. Seeing something in the real world that correlates to something in the geek world. Ever have a total ring up as 404 or 13.37 and enjoy a bit of silent amusement? Yeah, me too.
  6. When the shipping status changes to “on truck for delivery.” I buy a lot of stuff online, this is the final step before my package arrives and it pretty much makes me feel like I’m windsurfing on a sea of spectacular. Is work frustrating today? Did my upstairs neighbor keep me up all night by making noises that sounded like they were giving birth to an elephant? No worries, I’ve got some awesome shit coming in the mail - all is forgiven.
  7. Someone posts a real comment on one of my blog entries. Hell yeah, I blogged and someone responded without trying to sell me ringtones. Fan-freakin-tastic.
  8. That little green icon in the lower left of my browser indicating that my page validates. W3C all up in this biznatch - oh how I love that green icon. I wish you were a nightlight beside my bed.
  9. My code works perfectly on the first try. It’s rare, but it happens. Usually I’ll triple-check to make sure it’s actually working.
  10. Seeing binary code written on a shirt and knowing what it says, laughing to yourself and then laughing out loud because only another geek would understand.
  11. Hearing a co-worker say “for the win” or “for the loss” in basic conversations. That’s it…no other reasons
  12. Having an idea about a project that you want to work on and then someone else launches the exact idea but right around the same time that you thought of it. For most people, that would be upsetting, but it just means that you get all of the functionality and can work on another project. It makes me happy.
  13. Technorati and Alexa Ranking that increases each week. I like to see my numbers jump greatly over time which supports my theory that people actually read my blog.
