ABA team signs 7 foot 8¾ inch Sun Ming Ming
Zach wrote an article about the World’s Tallest Man, but Sun Ming Ming is the second tallest man in the world. Wearing size 19 shoes, weighing at least 335 pounds and as much as 370 pounds, standing at 7 foot 8 and ¾ inches, he is one of the tallest living persons on the planet.
Sun’s early career included playing for the Junior Olympic team (U-18) and Daqing club, before coming to the United States in early 2005 to train for a possible NBA career. Sun was declared eligible in the 2005 NBA Draft, but was not selected, probably due to the common complaint of his lack of speed and stamina. Sun returned to the court and appeared in a match between Ventura College and Southeastern Community College of Iowa, and was signed by USBL team Dodge City Legend in Dodge City, Kansas on March 30, 2006. On January 31, 2007, he signed with the Maryland Nighthawks of the American Basketball Association and is currently touted as the tallest player in the history of professional basketball. Nighthawks owner and ABA chief operating officer Tom Doyle expects this signing to draw crowds to the games. In his first game with Nighthawks, he got 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Sun Ming Ming is going to be in Rush Hour 3
