Facebook API for Developers

Facebook has become a huge aspect in many college students lives just like myspace is, but Facebook is specific to Universities. Facebook just came out with an API for their site so developers can create their own applications for Facebook and external entities that use facebook to communicate with.

After reading up on it, I decieded to create a service on the PACE website that grabs photos off of our facebook account and parses them into photogallery on our website. I would then like the ability to do other fun stuff to try and get students attention about PACE and to get involved.

Stay tuned for more information about what new features I am going to implement not only on the PACE website, but as a developer

Russian Scientists Chop off Dog’s Head…

This is a very disturbing video done in the 1940’s by Russian scientists where they chop off three dogs heads to do experiments on them and then surgically repair them to keep them alive.

FYI: Only three dogs were semi-hurt in the making of this video

Manny “Walks Off” with 27 Straight

Posted at: 9:59 pm by Timothy Haroutunian
Categories: Sports and Leisure

After going 0-3 in the first 9 innings, Manny has one more chance to extend his hitting streak to 27 straight games in the 10th at a tied 7-7 game. Mark Loretta and David Ortiz walked to put runners on first and second. Manny hit a ball into the outfield and the left fielder missed the ball on the pass which allowed pinch runner Gabe Kapler to score giving the win for the Red Sox and keeping Manny’s streak going.

This was a very interesting game from the start. The O’s were in this game to hit starting in the first inning and continued through the 6th inning, but after a 4 run 6th inning, we came back to tie it at 7-7.

Then in the bottom of the 10th, Manny knocked in the game winning RBI

Complaint filed against Adelphia

Posted at: 10:48 pm by Timothy Haroutunian
Categories: Rants and Randomness

Since I do not agree with the way some people run business, I might as well get something for free out of this mess. I was very upset with the way they handled it and I think that they need to know that.

Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau’s Online Complaint System.
Your complaint has been assigned case # xxxxxxxx.

Please print a copy of this for your records.

Filed against:
Adelphia
548 Eastman Rd
Center Conway NH 03813

Complaint Description:
Account Number: xxxx xx xxx xxxxx34

I was calling to transfer my service from one apartment to another and I was on the phone for 45 minutes and they still didn’t get my account information. It turns out that Comcast bought out Adelphia and they said they were having a problem with their system. After 45 minutes, they told me that my area was bought out by Time Warner. I was upset because if they were really customer friendly, they would have had a list of accounts that were transferred to which company, either Comcast or Time Warner. My cell phone minutes were used for this call and I lost a lot of minutes that I will not have anymore.

Your Desired Resolution:

Sharapova Acura Classic Champion

The Acura Classic Finals was underway in San Diego today with Kim Clijsters (1) vs. Maria Sharapova (2).

acura_classic

In the first set, Maria had a 2-0 game lead after breaking Clijsters in game 2. Kim then broke Maria allowing her to come back to tie it 3-3. Maria had a 5-3 lead with Set Point and lost it while trying to brake Kim for the win. Sharapova ended up winning the first set.

In the second set, It was even each winning their service games when they were tied 4–4. There were a lot of huge rallies that showed the amazing abilities of both Sharapova and Clijsters. After a few break opportunities for Kim Clijsters, Sharapova ended up holding and taking the win for the game. She was now one game away from winning the whole tournament. She was not able to break for the win, but she is now serving for the lead in hopes to break Kim again for the win. In the second set, she didn’t have break opportunities. Maria took her service game taking the lead 6-5 and is now going for the win if she can break Kim. Sharapova took the final game in the second set 7-5. The time on the game was 1:48:41.

Sharapova hasn’t won a tournament since March nor has never beaten Kim Clijsters in four chances. However, in this tourney, Sharapova has not dropped a set in eight chances. Sharapova played amazing today even though she had 38 unforced errors; she was able to take the match into her own hands.

Congratulations Maria Sharapova

CSS Rounded Corners

Posted at: 12:26 am by Timothy Haroutunian
Categories: Professional, Tech and Web

While working on Call Log today, I was looking for a way to round corners of a div without using images to make it more dynamic. However, the only code I could find works with Firefox and not IE. Since I like new and interesting ways to code, here is the code.

You want to replace the #some_div with whichever div you are wanting to round.

#some_div{
-moz-border-radius: 10px;
}

css, rounded corners, Cascading Style Sheets, styles, border-radius, divs, firefox, ie
