Red Sox vs. Yankees 05-09-06
The Red Sox/Yankees rivalry is the biggest in all of sports and everyone knows it. Two teams fighting for not only the top spot in the AL East, a pennant but more importantly fan respect. Being a die hard Red Sox fan, you are very emotional when it comes to these games against our biggest competition.
Everyone who expected the Red Sox to fall to the “Big Unit” Randy Johnson and his pinstriped goons was sorely mistaken. Johnson went 3 2/3 innings giving up 5 hits and 7 runs in which only 2 of them were against him. The Yankees had 3 errors which cost them those runs. It was the Unit’s shortest outing against the Red Sox since Sept. 7, 1991. Beckett gave up a 2 run homer to Giambi in the first inning, but went solid for the next 6 innings.

When Bernie Williams stepped up to the plate late in the game, he was upset with one of the called strikes for the K, slammed his bat against the ground and threw his helmet at the Umpire and was ejected from the game. It made my night
