In the process of getting everything straightened out with Recycled Percussion on Friday, February 17th, I didn’t have the chance to get anything signed from the Band as a souvenir. I was very upset because I spent months putting the show together and I didn’t have anything to show for it.
I went to my PACE meeting tonight and since I am done with everything for Snow Daze, I wasn’t on the agenda, or so I thought. Danielle, President of PACE got to the New Business Section of the Agenda and stated in front of the board that this was for me. I was confused because I didn’t know why. Danielle then mentioned that because I wasn’t able to get a Drum Stick from the performance, that she called up Recycled Percussion and had a Drum Stick signed by all the members of the band and sent to me. I was so shocked at what she had done for me that it actually brought tears to my eyes. I realized how awesome PACE is and how it is a family that cares for each other. She spent the time calling them so that I would enjoy what I really wanted.
Danielle, I love you

So I decided to go to my friend’s apt for the night and hang out with everyone that was there and have a fun night…for a change. It was snowing a lot and the roads were really bad so I walked completely across campus, long walk I know, to Merrill St. We were having a great time and everyone wanted to order food, so we called PHOP at 10:00pm because Late Night was closed. The roads were so bad that they told us it would be 1 hour. Lets skip ahead to 12:42am, over 2 ½ hours later and our food was arriving. Now, you’d expect them to tell us that our food was free, but NO, we had to pay the full price of the food, but we were hungry, so it was worth it. When we opened the boxes, the calzones were burnt and they were cold. So not only did we have to pay the full price, wait over 2 ½ hours for our food, but it was cold and burnt (which is ironic in its own way).

Sean and I (Vasken too) were working on a project for our System Analysis and Design class and we were looking at screen shots of Animal Shelter Software that we are trying to redesign do a complete recode of it. Anyway, Vasken went to the Animal Shelter last Saturday to take the screen shots of the existing program and sent them to me in an email. When we were looking them over, I noticed that my friend Steve’s name was on the list of customers for that day. The ironic coincidence is that Steve told me last Saturday he adopted a Cat, which was the same shelter that we are redesigning the software for. Vasken and I were completely shocked when we realized that Steve was there right before Vasken got there to take screen shots. That’s really all I wanted to say, that it is a very small world when you think of it.

TORONTO, Ontario (Reuters) — A small Canadian university has ruled out campus-wide wireless Internet access because its president fears the system’s electromagnetic forces could pose a risk to students’ health.
Now, I hope that Plymouth doesn’t agree with this idea because that would make a lot of people mad that they didn’t have wireless anymore, especially me. I disagree with the president’s decision because of the major impact that will occur with removing wireless from students access.
“If you look at the body of science, we’re confident that there is no demonstrable health effect or effects from wireless technology,” said Robert Bradley, director of consumer and clinical radiation protection at Canada’s federal health department.
As an employee of ITS at Plymouth State, I have never heard of a wireless internet signal causing cancer. If they somehow figure that the wireless does cause cancer, every University will see major problems with students outraged from no wireless. Most students don’t see health as a factor if it allows them what they want.
Adam Krupper, president of the Lakehead students’ union, estimated about 1,000 of the school’s 7,500 students have laptops that could pick up a wireless signal, and he said students “really, really” want Wi-Fi on campus.
“Considering this is a university known for its great use of technology, it’s kind of bad that we can’t get Wi-Fi,” he said.
